    SEX AND THE CITY

Our four favorite ladies are back – and more stylish than ever – in this summer’s Sex and the City sequel. Channel Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte with these Morocco-inspired trends for Summer 2010

    LONG FLOWY DRESSES

Maxi-dresses have been a longtime summer staple – Carrie and Co. are pairing these long, flowy favorites with flat thong sandals and an armful of bracelets.

    BOHO TOP

Channel your inner hippie with a gauzy boho top in a bright color. Pair it with cropped white pants to make the color pop.

    JUMPSUIT

Beat the heat with a summer favorite: the jumper. Try one of this summer’s fresh styles with wedges to flatter your figure and elongate your legs.

    ORNATE JEWELRY

The leading ladies of Sex and the City are all about the accessories. Think chunky bangles, a beaded ethnic clutch, a colorful bib necklace – let your jewelry make a statement!

LUXTIP: As much as you idolize Carrie Bradshaw’s clothing and accessories, the sexiest thing about her is her confidence and overall sense of style that is uniquely Carrie. Try one of the trends inspired by the movie but stay true to your own signature style.

    DERBY

If you’re anything like us, you see pictures of celebrities at the Kentucky Derby every year and drool over the big hats and beautiful dresses. This year, get inspired and have your own Derby party. Or at least dress like you’re at one!

    HATS

Choosing your hat is the first and most important step in putting together your Derby outfit. Women generally wear wide-brimmed, Southern-Belle inspired hats adorned with flowers, bows, and ribbons, among other things. Prices for hats can range from $30 for a simple floppy hat to upwards of $500 for a custom design. You can find many milliners online that will customize your hat to a particular dress, style or color scheme.

    DRESS

The hat is the centerpiece of the outfit, so plan your dress accordingly. You want to pick a dress or skirt in a color that complements your hat, but doesn’t perfectly match. Choose a simple shift dress in a muted color like black, beige or white or a in a spring color. Or try a ladylike skirt in a light fabric.

    ACCESSORIES

If it’s an outdoor party, flats or wedges would be the best choice for comfort, but we know you’ll end up wearing heels anyway! Accessorize with a simple string of pearls if any jewelry at all, you don’t want to over do it.

LUXTIP: Focus on getting a fun and outrageous hat, this is one event where anything goes!

The last couple of years have been so serious, I think everyone wants to have more fun again, especially with their fashion. I'm envisioning Marc Jacobs' whimsy alongside Gaultier's strong, structured silhouettes. Madonna's "Material Girl" will fit right in!

Thank you for your question Sarah. The brands are actually alphabetized from left to right within each letter. A better way to find your favorites brands would be to type the name into the search box. On the search results page click on the "Brands" tab. You will see a list of brands matching your search inquiry. You can also click on the heart under the brand to add it to your My Sale Rack emails. You can always email me questions at contact@luxgoddess.com!

Is there any possibility that the brands list can be alphabetized? I am finding it a bit frustrating that I have to go through the entire list of each letter to find the brands I love.

White After Labor Day: Do or Don't?

    Rebecca from Wooster said:
i think it all depends on where you live and what the local weather is. places that are warm year round would be ok as long as the sun is shining and it is a beautiful day. white pants show every speck of dirt or dust near the ground, so a big no-no in rain or other inclement weather even if it is July in Arizona!
